Opa-Pappou is a heartfelt Australian, Greek, and German short film that explores the connections between different cultures living in Australia. At its core, the story follows a young girl’s bond with her grandfather and her emotional journey navigating grief and guilt after his passing. I worked as Head of Unit and Runner on this project. Thrilled to share that Opa-Pappou is an Official Selection at a fantastic festival that rated the film 4 out of 5 stars! Even more exciting Opa-Pappou is now being submitted to 50 associated festivals through their network.

I produced a music video for Shayna Veloria’s new song Try To, taking on multiple creative and production roles throughout the project. In addition to overseeing the production, I contributed to the costume design and assisted with set design to help bring the visual concept to life. I also supported the team through on-set coordination, including catering, ensuring a smooth and collaborative shoot from start to finish.

I have recently begun producing music videos for emerging artists, taking on a fully integrated creative role throughout the entire process. This includes directing the overall concept and visual narrative, filming the footage using my own professional camera equipment, and completing all post-production editing myself.
By managing each stage from initial idea development through to final delivery, I ensure a cohesive and high-quality outcome that aligns with the artist’s vision while also bringing a distinctive cinematic style to each project.

For this short film, I chose to expand my skills by taking on the roles of Costume Designer and SFX Makeup Artist instead of directing. Designing costumes that felt realistic and seamlessly blended with the world we created was both exciting and rewarding. I also got to apply special effects makeup, including gash wounds and fake blood, and cutting costumes to mimic claw marks from the monster, allowing me to explore my creativity in new ways. Contributing to the film’s overall look and feel made me realise just how much I love being part of the filmmaking process.

This short film follows the journey of two young women as they navigate questions of identity, sexuality, and the impact these have on their relationships with their parents. The film is creatively edited to reflect the characters' emotional connection to music and breath, adding a sensory layer to their personal stories. Wanting to broaden my skills beyond directing and editing, I took on the role of Production Designer and Lighting for this project. It was an exciting and rewarding experience that allowed me to explore a different aspect of filmmaking, though it ultimately reinforced my passion for directing.

Having undertaken a variety of roles on set and thoroughly enjoyed each experience, I have come to realise that my true passion lies in directing and assisting within the camera department. Through exploring different aspects of production, I have developed a strong appreciation for the creative and technical collaboration involved in bringing a story to life, and I feel most inspired when working closely with the director’s vision and the cinematography team.
