Yasmin Elboz
I am an aspiring director with a strong passion for storytelling, filmmaking, and bringing creative visions to life. I thrive on working in dynamic, collaborative environments, whether I’m on set assisting with camera work, supporting the production team, or in the edit suite refining the final cut. With hands-on experience across various areas of production, I’m building a well-rounded foundation to grow into a confident and capable director. I’m driven by curiosity, attention to detail, and a love for visual storytelling that connects with audiences.
I recently graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Media and Communications, majoring in Screen Practice and Production. At this stage of my career, I am focused on gaining as much practical experience as possible across different departments. I believe the best directors have a strong understanding of every element of production, which is why I love stepping into roles like assistant camera, editing, or crew support on set. I am always eager to learn from others, work hard, and immerse myself in every opportunity that helps me grow creatively and technically. I have also been steadily building my experience in freelance editing, completing a range of editing projects for diverse clients and continually refining my skills with each assignment.
My Editing Journey
I began my creative journey in 2018 by editing fan-made videos of my favourite movies, gradually building a dedicated online audience of over 56k followers across Instagram and TikTok. What started as a passion for storytelling and visual design quickly evolved into freelance opportunities, as brands and creators began reaching out for professional video editing work. Over time, I’ve gained extensive experience editing a diverse range of content—including lifestyle, travel, and music videos—and have developed advanced proficiency in DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, Final Cut Pro X, and Adobe Premiere Pro.
My expertise spans colour grading, motion graphics, and crafting visually compelling, polished videos that balance creativity with technical precision, all while meeting tight deadlines. I’ve completed freelance projects for luxury hotels, travel brands, and small businesses, producing high-quality, social-first content that resonates with audiences and elevates each client’s brand presence. My degree in Media and Communications, majoring in Screen Practice and Production, has further strengthened my storytelling skills and taught me how to strategically grow and engage online communities.
