Crafting Cinematic Stories

a selection of short films I’ve edited using DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro and After Effects. I use these tools to shape pacing, colour, sound, visual effects, and storytelling, creating polished and cinematic edits that bring each film’s vision to life.

Behind the Edit

This was my first major directing and editing project after graduating university, and it was proudly preselected for Tropfest. I approached the edit as the film’s emotional backbone, using pacing, sound design, colour grading, match cuts, and visual motifs to create an immersive cinematic experience. I also incorporated SFX, special effects, and camcorder footage to give the film a raw yet poetic visual style.

Editing Identity

I directed and edited this documentary exploring societal expectations of femininity and the experiences of women and gender-diverse individuals. Through personal interviews, the film examines how gender identity and social norms shape individual experiences and perceptions of self.

Bringing the Vision to Life

During my first year of university, I edited Where’d All The Men Go?, a 1920s period short film exploring identity, masculinity, and societal expectations. I particularly enjoyed creating the special effects and detailed masking, which strengthened my technical skills and allowed me to creatively support the director’s vision.
